NATIONAL LEVEL CONFERENCE OF KARNATAKA SOCIETY OF MEDICAL PHARMACOLOGISTS

WELCOME TO KARNATAKA SOCIETY OF MEDICAL PHARMACOLOGISTS

ABOUT SOCIETY

Pharmacology has developed into a multifaceted discipline extending from computer aided drug design at one end to bedside clinical pharmacology at the other. Pharmacology has evolved from lab animal experiments to clinical studies. This enormous expansion has taken place during the past few decades and left many of us behind, in ignorance about the necessity of joint and collaborative efforts. Added to this the Indian Graduates medical curriculum is going through a sea of change through NMC. The success in pharmacology will depend on the medical pharmacologists to come together as a family to acquire, share knowledge and utilize the new tools available, in the efforts to extend pharmacological teaching and research. For various reasons medical/clinical pharmacology had taken a backseat in academics and research, is now finding its way out. The medical fraternity has started realizing the importance of collaborative work in clinical therapeutics. In other words, our goal is to create new generations of pharmacologists to take forward the great work done by our teachers and predecessors to next level both in teaching and research.

WHY KARNATAKA SOCIETY OF MEDICAL PHARMACOLOGISTS (KSMP)

Karnataka society of medical pharmacologists is an association of MD pharmacologists who have registered with Karnataka medical council (KMC) to interact and disseminate the knowledge of basic and clinical pharmacology & therapeutics. Though we have at national level, Pharmacological societies, there was a strong desire and undercurrent for past two years to have an exclusive society in Karnataka for MD Pharmacologists. KSMP took birth on 07/09/2019 at a CME conducted in JJM Medical College, Davangere. This will be an exclusive association for MD pharmacologists for both academic faculty and Industry researcher from Karnataka. KSMP is registered under the Karnataka Societies Act, Registration No DR/DVG/SOR/520/2019-20 dated 14-02-2020. We wish not to replace or compete with other National and local Pharmacological societies but coexist and work with all for the betterment of pharmacology & therapeutics.
